Facts from Florence start with the
“main dish” – 11 for 11 in finishers from the current team. Everything else is
“dessert,” and we had plenty of that. Such as…
Three firsts in age groups: Kate in
W35-39, Marcel in M35-39 and Leah in W45-49. Plus three second places: Carrie
in W40-44, Neal in M70-74 and Chris in M60-64.
Neal improving the most from his
last and longest training run, at minus-1:59 per mile. This came just five days
after he underwent a medical procedure for kidney stones.
Kate, Marcel and Will racing for the
first time with our team. For Will, it was his first half-marathon and longest
run ever.
Big thank-yous to Gabe, Bill and Amy, along with Neal's wife Alyse, for handling on-course duties. Plus Everett, Jan and Keith for helping me out there
on a near-perfect running day.
