June 30th Results (5 to 12 miles)

It didn’t take a pre-holiday weekend to scatter our teammates widely, but it helped. We had runners as far away as Vermont (Rhonda) and Florida (Neal) in this country, and visiting Germany (Rachel W.). I still forecast a turnout of a dozen today, and for once got the count just right.

Thanks to all of you for bearing with my early exit this morning, for breakfast with my grandson. And special thank-you to Marcel for stepping in as drink-giver and results-taker. As always, we appreciate Kelly’s store-opening.

Thanks to Kelly and Lindsey for the store opening today… to Neal for his pacing by bike… and to Laurel and Trey for helping on the course.

June 22nd Races

Our team has more history at Coburg than any other half-marathon. This stretches back to 2002, across some race name changes and now a date change (from traditional, and traditionally hot, July).

This time we accounted for nearly 10 percent of the field (eight of 90). And two age-group winners (Norm and Everett).

Thanks to Neal for on-course help at Coburg. And to announcer William Wyckoff for singling out each of our finishers.

We also had three runners tackle Mary’s Peak on Saturday, and two waited until evening for the Silvan Ridge 5K.

COBURG HALF-MARATHON RESULTS

(with official times, paces and places)

Kristin – 2:12:42 (10:08 pace) 3rd in age group
Stephanie – 2:10:17 (9:57s)
Chris – 2:26:18 (11:11s)
Everett – 1:42:38 (7:51s) 1st in age group
Norm – 1:34:40 (7:14s) 5th overall, 1st in age group
Frank – 2:05:11 (9:8s) 2nd in age group
Trina – 2:26:15 (11:10s)
Rhonda – 2:24:24 (11:02s)

MARY’S PEAK RACES

I believe this is the first time we’ve sent runners to this mountain near Corvallis. And we supplied three of them, including one at the ultra-distance.

Bill – finished 25K
Amy – finished 25K
Sean – finished 50K

SILVAN RIDGE 5K

John and Michele waited until evening for their race.

John -- 29:10 (9:24s) 2nd in age group
Michele -- 44:32 (15:57s)
