Our mini-team at
Newport scored well today. Lydia Quesada, running the first half-marathon of
her life, placed second in her age group. Her mentor, Neal Benson, also was
runner-up in his.
Michele Clemo
ran her first half-marathon since being injured in an auto/pedestrian accident (she was
the one on foot) last fall. Russell Wingard celebrated his birthday, which fell
on Thursday, with his first marathon since this one a year ago.
Today was reason
to celebrate for me as well. I didn’t go the planned distance, but was fine
with half of it at age 74. There is no cure for the common birthday.
