Summer/Fall Team Training

Our team training for the rest of 2018 starts on July 22nd, a week after the Coburg Half. As usual, we target specific half-marathons. There’s one this summer and another in the fall (with other local choices available in each round of training). Those are:

Summer: Florence Half on Saturday, September 22nd (with the option of extending to the Oregon Women’s Half, on October 7th).

Fall: EWEB Half on Sunday, November 18th (or the new Friendsgiving Half later that week, on November 24th, with extended training for the Holiday Half, on December 15th).

Some runners point toward other events during this time frame. I can help adjust your training distances for those but can’t promise full support every week.

The training fee for all these months is $100, or half as much for half this long. Ask me about credits you might have coming (for overpaying earlier this year) or our possible discounts.

Training distances for most of our runners, with runs usually starting at 8:00 a.m. from the Eugene Running Company. Extra runs are listed in (…..):

Love Liberates Half-Marathon

Our team at Saturday’s race was small but mighty. Five did the Love Liberates Half-Marathon. Their age-group winnings: two firsts, a second and a third! The other runner placed fourth in one of the toughest groups.

Thanks to Michele for volunteering at the finish, and to Kathy B. for her work on the course. Also a special salute to my daughter-in-law Cindy and her two girls, Paige and Shaye, for enthusiastic work at the first/last drink station.

And thanks to Piper Ruiz for conducting another fine event – and to announcer/scorekeeper William Wyckoff for giving our team extra attention.
